SURVIVOR SPEAKOUT GUIDELINES TO ATTEND A LIVE, ONLINE VICTIM IMPACT PANEL USING ZOOM – Accepted Nationwide
Survivor Speakout Victim Impact Panels are accepted by court systems nationwide. Survivor Speakout online is a 2-hour live online presentation, not a recorded class, and there is no test.
- You cannot attend online using your cell phone.
- You must have a reliable internet connection. a
- You must have an iPad, Android tablet, laptop or personal computer with an operational webcam, microphone and speakers to attend a Survivor Speakout victim impact panel online.
- Your cell phone must be turned off during the panel.
- You cannot attend while at your place of employment or any other public location.
- You cannot attend while sitting in a vehicle.
- You must be alone and in a private room with no distractions.
- The room must be well lit with light shining on your face.
- You must be sitting up with your face fully visible on camera.
- No blurred or virtual backgrounds allowed during the panel.
- You must be clearly paying attention by looking at the screen the entire time or you will be removed from the session after one (1) warning and will NOT get credit for attending.
- You must pay your $50.00 fee immediately after registering.
- You must check the link you will be sent prior to the date and time of the panel you are attending.
- Check your spam or junk mail folder if it does not appear in your inbox.
- Test your webcam and speakers once you receive the link to ensure they are operational.
- If you do not receive the link within two (2) days of your scheduled panel you must text 317.289.3242.
- You must join the panel 15 minutes prior to the panel scheduled start time (EST – Eastern Standard Time).
- Only court ordered offenders are allowed to attend a Survivor Speakout online victim impact panel.
- There cannot be anything or anyone at your location that may cause distractions.
- You will be considered a “no show” if you are late or fail to attend the date you have chosen. If you are a “no show” you must re-register and pay an additional fee to attend. There are no refunds for any reason.
- No hats, headbands, hoodies, food, smoking, vaping or beverages will be allowed.
- If you fall asleep you will be removed after one (1) warning.
- If you are disrespectful in any other way you will be removed from the session immediately and NOT get credit for attending and will not be allowed to attend an online panel through Survivor Speakout. You will have to register to attend in person and repay your $50.00 fee.
- If you appear to be impaired you will be removed from the session. You will have to register to attend in person and repay your $50.00 fee.
- If you leave the panel at any time for any reason you will be removed and will not get credit for attending. You will have to register to attend in person and repay your $50.00 fee.
- Your probation officer will be notified if you are removed or you leave the online victim impact panel.
- You must be dressed appropriately during the online victim impact panel.
- Please use the restroom prior to joining the panel.
- If for any reason the live online victim impact panel you schedule is canceled or postponed by Survivor Speakout you may reschedule for another available IN PERSON or ONLINE victim impact panel date. You will not be charged another fee.
- If weather or any other act of nature cause a disruption in electrical power you may reschedule for an IN PERSON or ONLINE victim impact panel date. You will not be charged another fee.
- If you are removed from the victim impact panel due to any distraction on your part you may reschedule for our next available IN PERSON victim impact panel date. You will not be allowed to attend online a second time. You will be required to re-register and pay the $50.00 fee to attend in person.
- After you have provided feedback about the panel you attend your probation officer will be notified you have successfully completed the Survivor Speakout victim impact panel.
- If you are on a diversion plea you will need to request a confirmation letter from us that you can present to the court through your attorney.
- If it is determined that you are unable to abide by all of the guidelines you will be removed from the session and NOT get credit for attending.
- There are NO REFUNDS for any reason.
- Fees are not transferable to other dates for no shows or if you are removed from a session for not abiding by the guidelines.
